surrealist-geek - joined December 2003, was banned February 2007. Time for a hypothetical FAQ - these are the questions I think people might ask, even the ones that people haven't asked.
What did you get banned for?Basically, repeatedly calling attention to the administration's mistakes. I'm not going to tell the story here - I'm not looking for drama. I'll just say two things: I was never even accused of breaking any rules, and the administrator who banned me is no longer a dA administrator (though his departure had nothing to do with my ban).If you got banned, aren't you not allowed to sign up again?No, surprisingly. The FAQ says I shouldn't, but the ToS says nothing about it, and the ToS also says that it is the entire agreement. I was surprised by that. Either way, I'm here now. If an admin wants to ban me, so be it. At this stage I will point out that dA has the right to ban any member for any or no reason, regardless of the ToS. I'm just hoping they don't.Why have you come back?Basically, I want to be able to post the occasional comment here. Also, there are people here who I'd like to re-establish contact with.100% less dA site politics?Indeed. I was very much involved in site politics in my previous incarnation, but I really am over it. That's not what I'm here for now.What did you do without dA for the last couple of years?Shortly before I was banned from dA, I joined Storm-Artists.net. Also shortly before I was banned from dA, Storm made me an admin there. That's been scratching my art-site itch quite well, among other things. Please note, though, that I'm not recruiting for Storm. For that matter, I'm also not here to bash dA.
